At Zen Smiles Dental, we provide safe, clinically-supervised whitening procedures. Our in-office system uses a therapeutic-grade hydrogen peroxide gel activated by a specialized blue LED light. We isolate and protect your gums completely beforehand. The procedure safely breaks down deep organic stains inside the enamel, lifting your teeth by several shades in just one visit. Post-treatment enamel sealants are applied immediately to block post-whitening sensitivity.

Prophylaxis & Check

We perform a quick clean and check to make sure you have no active cavities or exposed roots that could cause discomfort during whitening.

Gingival Barrier

We apply a protective liquid dam barrier over your gums and cure it with light, isolating your soft tissues fully from the whitening gel.

LED Activation

The professional gel is applied to the teeth and activated with our LED lamp. We run 3 to 4 fifteen-minute cycles to lift stain particles.

Enamel Sealer

We wash away the gel, remove the barrier, and apply a post-whitening mineralizing sealer to lock in color and eliminate sensitivity.

How many shades whiter will my teeth get?

Most patients achieve a lift of 4 to 8 shades in a single in-office session. Results depend on the initial level of discoloration and the underlying shade of your dentin structure.

Will professional whitening make my teeth sensitive?

Some temporary sensitivity is normal for the first 12 to 24 hours. However, by using a protective gingival barrier and applying an advanced mineral desensitizing sealer immediately after the session, we keep sensitivity to an absolute minimum.

How long do teeth whitening results last?

Teeth whitening results typically last between 1 to 2 years. Longevity depends on your dietary habits (consumption of coffee, tea, red wine, soy sauce) and whether you smoke. Regular dental cleans and occasional touch-ups help sustain the brightness.

Can whitening gels brighten existing crowns or veneers?

No. Whitening gels only work on natural tooth enamel. They will not change the color of existing composite fillings, veneers, crowns, or bridges. If you plan to get veneers or crowns, we recommend whitening your natural teeth beforehand so we can match the ceramics to your new bright shade.
