We then polish, glaze, and bond the crown immediately. The entire procedure is completed in less than 2 hours.

How long does the same day crown procedure take?

The entire procedure is completed in approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. This includes tooth preparation, 3D scanning, designing, 15 minutes of milling, oven-firing, and final cementation.

Are same day crowns weaker than traditional lab-made crowns?

No. Same day crowns are milled from solid blocks of high-strength ceramic (such as lithium disilicate or zirconia), which are the exact same high-grade materials used in traditional dental labs. Studies show they possess the same longevity and durability as traditional crowns.

Does the procedure require gooey dental impressions?

No. We completely eliminate messy, uncomfortable alginate impression clays. Instead, we use an advanced intraoral camera that captures thousands of photographs per second to construct a highly accurate 3D model of your teeth.

What is the advantage of not having a temporary crown?

Temporary crowns are placed with temporary cement and are prone to falling off or leaking, which can cause tooth sensitivity and bacterial contamination. Same day crowns eliminate the need for temporaries entirely.
