Safe, Anxiety-Free Tooth Extractions

While we always strive to preserve your natural teeth, there are situations where a tooth cannot be saved. Severe decay, deep fractures, advanced gum disease, or dental crowding can make tooth extraction necessary. Impacted wisdom teeth can also cause pain, infection, or damage to adjacent healthy molars.

At Zen Smiles Dental, we prioritize patient comfort above all else. We use **minimally invasive surgical techniques** to gently separate the tooth from its socket, protecting the surrounding bone and gums. We offer twilight conscious sedation options for patients with dental anxiety. Post-operative care materials, such as healing gel and biocompatible collagen plugs, are applied to promote rapid healing and prevent dry socket.

Clinical Journey

The Treatment Procedure

Our extraction workflow focuses on meticulous planning, complete pain blocking, and careful post-op care.

01

Radiographic Mapping

We take digital 2D or 3D CBCT radiographs to map the tooth root shapes, bone borders, and proximity of nearby nerve paths.

02

Anesthetic & Sedation

We apply topical gel and administer profound local numbing blocks. Conscious sedation (twilight sleep) is available for anxious patients.

03

Gentle Luxation & Lift

The tooth is carefully luxated (loosened) using specialized instruments, allowing it to be lifted out gently without bone fractures.

04

Socket Care & Suture

The socket is cleaned and disinfected. We place collagen dressings to assist blood clotting, apply soft sutures, and provide post-op gauze.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about dental extractions.

Does a tooth extraction hurt?
During the extraction, your tooth and surrounding gums will be completely numb, so you will feel absolutely no pain—only some pressure. After the anesthetic wears off, minor soreness and throbbing are normal for 2-3 days, which can be managed with standard prescribed painkillers.
How long is the healing period?
Initial gum tissue healing takes approximately 3 to 7 days. Complete bone regeneration inside the socket takes 3 to 6 months. Most patients can return to normal daily activities on the day after the extraction.
What is a dry socket, and how do I prevent it?
A dry socket occurs when the protective blood clot fails to form or is dislodged from the socket, exposing the jawbone to air and food. It is highly painful. To prevent it, do not smoke, spit forcefully, wash aggressively, or drink through a straw for the first 48 hours after extraction.
Do all wisdom teeth need to be extracted?
No. If your wisdom teeth are fully erupted, functional, cleanable, and properly aligned, they do not need to be removed. Extraction is recommended when wisdom teeth are impacted (trapped under the bone or gums), causing decay on adjacent teeth, or leading to cysts and infections.
